Strong growth in the number of breweries

In terms of the number of companies, the fastest growing industry in Sweden is the brewing industry. Between 2010 and 2017, the number of breweries in Sweden increased almost tenfold, from just over 40 to nearly 400. Up to 96 percent of all breweries are so-called microbreweries, employing fewer than ten people. It should be noted, however, that large breweries with at least 250 employees still dominate the market with a whopping 84 percent share, while microbreweries only have a 6 percent share.

Strong growth for green food.

       There is no indication that the vegan trend will slow down, rather the opposite. Above all, given that the negative impact of meat and other animal products on the climate and the environment is becoming increasingly apparent. Meanwhile, nearly a quarter responded that they plan to cut back on their meat consumption in 2018. 

Even in restaurants and other eating places, having multiple vegetarian options is the rule rather than the exception, which wasn't the case five to 10 years ago. Even fast-food restaurant chains, which are traditionally closely associated with different types of meat dishes, now often have several different vegan options.
